The JDF extended our mission in November with youth chess! Our JDF co-founder,   Robert, was an avid chess player noting how well it teaches good decision making and  strategic thinking. Helping kids develop these skills can help improve their mental and physical health. 61 young chess players exercised their strategic thinking skills and competed for trophies.

JDF partnered with Chess Director Mike Cornell and his experienced team for the event. The players were originally paired by age or grade level and guaranteed at least three rounds until the winners competed for trophies.

Many thanks to the nearly 100 family members and coaches who supported the competitors. Special thanks to Mike Cornell & is team. Here are the awardees and  school team winners. Great job!

2024 has been a year of transition for our JDF team. As we close out the year we want to thank all our financial supporters, and  the organizations that partnered with us this year. We are only able to give because you give to us. Thank You!We extend a huge THANK YOU to all JDF volunteers who sacrifice so much to help ensure we continue to meet the needs of our communities. We appreciate each and everyone of you who support us.

Flowers are blooming, daylight hours are getting longer and jacket season is nearly over. Spring has sprung! Our JDF volunteers are filling our spring and summer calendar with events so we’ll keep you posted as they develop.
